International Tiger Day is a chance to reflect on the pressing need to stop tiger farming and to end demand for tiger parts and products, helping by not visiting tiger farms when on holiday to pose and play with captive tigers and urging governments to actively call for an end to all trade from wild or captive tigers
With tiger farming long pushed to the margins of the UN Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES), our Tigers Campaign is pleased to see the issue back in the spotlight and recognised as a serious threat to the future of wild tigers
The 65th Meeting of the Standing Committee (SC65) of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) will take place in Geneva. Our campaigners will attend and urge Parties to stop stimulating demand in wildlife products focusing on Asian big cats (tigers), elephants and tropical forests.
