Joint NGO Position Paper on the Proposal to Revise the EU F-Gas Regulation

This report, produced jointly with Changing Markets and GAIA, provides recommendations for governments on immediate actions that can be taken in national action plans, identifying specific measures and policies to cut methane in the main methane-emitting sectors: energy, agriculture and waste.

The Montreal Protocol was created in 1987 to regulate the chemicals responsible for ozone depletion. Widely hailed as the world’s most successful international environmental treaty, it has phased out 99 per cent of all Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS), setting the ozone layer on the path to recovery.
