Methane matters: A comprehensive approach to methane mitigation

Methane is a short-lived but extremely potent gas, responsible for 25 per cent of the global warming of the planet. Emissions need to be reduced by 45% per cent by 2030 to stay below 1.5°C warming.

This report, produced jointly with Changing Markets and GAIA, provides recommendations for governments on immediate actions that can be taken in national action plans, identifying specific measures and policies to cut methane in the main methane-emitting sectors: energy, agriculture and waste.
