HCFC Phase Out Briefing: An Early Freeze to Stop the Warming
This report for the 19th Meeting of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol in 2007, provides an analysis of a number of proposals to accelerate the phase out of hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) and presents EIA’s recommendations on the core elements requirement to solidify the achievements of the Montreal Protocol in protecting the ozone layer and make an historic contribution to combating climate change, saving billions of carbon dioxide (CO2) equivalent tonnes from reaching the atmosphere.
