EIA and our partners today called for ambitious action by EU lawmakers to combat deforestation
Last night the European Parliament clearly called on the EU to develop a new law that prevents products sold in the EU from being produced from deforestation, as well as associated human rights.
The UK is acknowledging that new laws will be necessary to better protect forests and the people who live in and around them
Ahead of tomorrow’s (Wednesday’s) UN biodiversity summit, hosted online from New York, many world leaders have signed up to promise to halt the destruction of nature on Earth
The European Union is degrading forests and using up the world’s resources at a hugely disproportionate and unfair rate – if the rest of the planet consumed at the same level, we’d need nearly three planets to meet the demand
In recent weeks, the world has looked on transfixed as huge tracts of the precious Amazon rainforest have been engulfed in flame.
