Our Climate Campainger, Natasha Hurley, reports back on the United Nations climate conference in Bonn and the EU Summit on Europe's 2030 climate and energy targets. There is general consensus in the UN that a global deal to eliminate HFCs should be the next step and the EU agreed on three headline targets for 2030.
I was keen to do something tangible for the environment and EIA’s climate campaign and its focus on hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) really appealed to me as it was one of the few climate issues that seemed black and white, with a solution within immediate grasp
The purpose of the 2014 Climate Summit was to raise political momentum for a meaningful universal climate agreement in Paris in 2015 and to galvanize transformative action in all countries to reduce emissions and build resilience to the adverse impacts of climate change

Today is the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer, the theme of which is Ozone Layer Protection: The Mission Goes On. Catchy or not, that title does a pretty good job of summing up where we are in terms of addressing global ozone depletion.
