Using more than 1,000 pages of documents from the Croatian Ministry of Agriculture, EIA was able to piece together the details of 10 shipments of teak from Myanmar which were supplied to companies throughout Europe
Since we started collecting data on plastics in the UK supermarket sector, we have seen awareness of the scale of the plastic pollution crisis rise exponentially
For years EIA has been campaigning for strong action to prevent the trade in commodities from causing deforestation and now some big steps are being taken in Europe towards this goal. We have the chance to create a new “due diligence” law that will require companies to ensure their products have not been grown on recently deforested land.
