“The world without EIA would be a much poorer world” – 35 years of fighting environmental crime

The three founders of the Environmental Investigation Agency – Dave Currey, Jennifer Lonsdale and Allan Thornton – came together for the first time in years to help celebrate the 35th anniversary of the pioneering organisation they created.

Long-term supporters, friends and family joined them and EIA campaigners for a special event on Wednesday (20 November) at our HQ in Islington, London.

As well as an opportunity to meet our founders and learn about the huge difference the organisation has made in its 35 years, guests also heard from our current campaigns teams of Climate, Forests, Ocean and Wildlife about the work they are currently carrying out and challenges for the future.

The event also saw the first screening of a new short film, made by Lydia Handford, to commemorate the event and reflect back on our many successes.

As well as interviews with the three founders and current campaigners, the film also featured messages from EIA alumni who have gone on to found their own campaigning organisations, as well as from broadcaster Bill Oddie and politicians Caroline Lucas.
