CCPCJ – why it matters for wildlife & forest crime

EIA campaigners are in Vienna for a meeting of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ), which begins on Monday (April 22).

The CCPCJ is a key body within the United Nations, dealing with crime prevention and criminal justice policy.

EIA and others will be pushing for it to expand the work of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime to address illicit trafficking in protected species of wild fauna and flora.

The USA and Peru have submitted a resolution to the CCPCJ to expand the work of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime in addressing illicit trafficking in protected species of wild fauna and flora (view the draft resolution here).
