What we do
We investigate and campaign against environmental crime and abuse.

The international moratorium on commercial whaling is one of the greatest conservation successes of the 20th century. We campaign to keep the ban in place, to expose the exploitation of species it does not cover and drive action to address other threats to whales, dolphins and porpoises
The ocean covers two-thirds of our planet and is home to an astonishing array of unique animal and plant species. From the microscopic phytoplankton which form the basis of the marine food chain, to the immense blue whale – the largest animal to have ever inhabited our planet – the biodiversity in our ocean is truly staggering.
Our Ocean work focusses on three threats to the marine environment and biodiversity: plastic pollution, fishing gear, and commercial exploitation of cetaceans (whales, dolphins and porpoises).

For the first time since its launch in 2014, UN World Wildlife Day (3 March) switches its focus from creatures on the land to the world beneath the waves with the theme 'Life below water: for people and planet'.
