Why buy EIA gifts?

Protect the environment
Help end wildlife crime
Delight your friends and family

An EIA gift is a great way to show your loved ones you care at Christmas – not just about them, but about our precious wildlife and environment too.

That’s because EIA gifts help us to campaign against, expose and stop dangerous or illegal activity that threatens our planet and the incredible creatures we share it with.

The recipient of your gift will receive a beautiful Christmas card and, for gifts over £20, a further special memento of the commitment you’ve made on their behalf. But most importantly, they’ll know that you’ve made a valuable and urgently needed contribution to the fight against wildlife crime and environmental devastation.

Where your money will be spent

We’ve lost more than half our wildlife in a single generation. Meanwhile, the climate and our oceans are catastrophically changing and our forests are disappearing. The future of our environment is at stake. So how does EIA make a difference, and where will the money from your gifts be spent?

Our investigations are a trademark of our work around the world. We use covert techniques to expose illegal activity that threatens endangered species or the environment.

We provide hard intelligence to Interpol, the World Customs Organisation and other enforcement agencies worldwide, while our unique training films on combating environmental crimes are used by governments worldwide.

But we also tackle environmental crime and defend the natural world strategically, operating in a number of different ways – from tireless campaigning to rigorous data analysis.

Our findings are combined with scientific documentation and representation at international conventions, creating hard-hitting campaigns which have earned us a global reputation.

Your money will be spent where it is needed most to fight wildlife crime and environmental devastation around the world.

General Questions

  1. What are EIA Gifts?
EIA's virtual gifts are a range of gifts you can give on behalf of a loved one. These gifts have been carefully selected to support our campaigns to combat wildlife crime and help protect our planet.
  2. Who will receive the gift I buy?
All our gifts will help to fund our investigations and campaigns. That might be helping to equip an investigation, supporting a campaign to bring evidence to a conference such as CITES or helping to fund our campaigners who work tirelessly to help protect our planet.
  3. What will the gift recipient receive?
All gifts include a gift Christmas card. Gifts of £20+ also include a small token for you to give to your loved one – depending on the gift you buy this will be a fridge magnet, seeds or cloth bag. We also offer additional gifts for higher value presents (see here for more information).
  4. Are your gift items environmentally friendly?
All the gifts we have chosen (seeds, cloth bag and fridge magnet) are environmentally friendly. Our fridge magnets are made of recycled materials, our cloth bags are organic and Fairtrade Certified cotton and the seeds are packaged in compostable materials. We also use recycled paper across all our printed materials.
  5. Will the donation that I give to EIA be used to support the exact gift that I buy?
Your generous donation will be used across our campaigns and investigations, where they are needed most at the time. The gifts are illustrative of the work that we are able to undertake through your generous support.
  6. Can I get a refund on my gift?
Unfortunately, due to the urgent nature of the work that we do, we are unable to offer refunds on donations that you make to EIA.
