It’s almost mid-November, the nights have drawn in and, with Christmas just around the corner, the charity appeal season is well under way.
As the competition for funding becomes ever greater, charity supporters are feeling their finances being stretched, particularly at this expensive time of year – which is why we think that the Big Give Christmas Challenge is such a brilliant idea and are delighted to be taking part in 2012.
The Big Give Christmas Challenge gives you the opportunity to DOUBLE your donation to EIA for free. So, you can turn £5 into £10, £50 into £100 or £500 into £1,000, at no extra cost to yourself. Our goal is to raise £10,000 in online donations during the challenge, which could then be doubled to give us a total of £20,000.
The challenge aspect comes from the fact that there is a limited pot of money available and EIA is effectively competing for a share of it against other organisations, so it’s a race to log on at the start of the challenge and have your donation doubled before the pot runs dry. This means the nearer to 10am you log on, the more likely it is your donation will be doubled.
So we need you, our supporters, to log on to our Big Give project page here at 10am on December 6, 7 or 8 and click on Donate Online Now.
This type of fundraising is uncharted territory for EIA and represents an incredibly exciting opportunity. The money will make an enormous difference to the way we are able to operate next year and would be a significant boost to our Tiger Campaign as we look forward to another busy year in 2013.
If you’re considering making a charitable donation this Christmas, please consider making it to EIA and doing so through our Big Give project page during the challenge.
Please also share this as widely as you can – it’s a great chance for you, your friends, family and colleagues to make a lasting difference this Christmas and make your money go further.
We will be holding an open morning at our offices from 9.30am on Saturday, December 8 for anybody who would like to come in and be guided through the process of the Christmas Challenge. It will be a great opportunity to meet members of staff and see for yourself what makes EIA tick, so if you’re in the area please do drop in for a mince pie and a coffee.
You can view the new Big Give Donors FAQ page here, which has more useful information regarding the Challenge. Please do get in touch with me directly, using the address below, if you have any questions or you would like to receive reminder emails nearer the time.
Our target is ambitious but achievable and will have an enormous impact on our work to protect tigers in the wild.
